setzerTrancer a good idea mite be to make a forum called flaming where there are no rules at all. Cause in the rules it says that the flaming rule applies in the spam forum. it would be good cause then people can vent and it would only offend if the person it offends goes in to the flame forum. I don’t know about everyone els but sometimes its fun to be offended obviously not all the time but if your not that sort of person then don’t go in the flame forum cause if you want to say none offensive dribble there is still the spam forum and also for the flame make the posts not count. There should be some limitations, no outright hateful threats and stuff just mocking and saying peoples flews and stuff
if anyone agrees or disagrees say so in a post |

Even with the best intention a thread like that is bound to get out of hand, especially when the forum gets bigger. There is nothing that says you can't make jokes about fellow member, it just can't
1. appear offensive to that person (They have to share the joke)
2. appear offensive to other people (Or they will think you are flaming)
If you want to use an inside joke that noone else understands then go ahead.
The reason for these rule sis that unlike a chatroom this is a community, just like a street of neighbors. So everyone you interact with here you will more then likely see again the next day. In a chatroom you meet people that you may never see again and the rule aren't as lax in chatrooms as you think, it's just that because of their enormous size and ability of people to use different sign in name every time, it is incredibly hard for the moderators police the rules.
I'm serious about this forum, so serious rules are to be expected. Although I may be making imposible dreams that this forum will reach 100 members some day. It is good and productive to be hopeful and I want my rules to develop and refine from the beginning, not just go "okay there are 50 members maybe I should make up some rules now".
So in short to your question, No
People should be able to go into any forum they want without worrying about unexpected offensive content.
If good argument are made as to how this idea would work in practice I may reconsider. _________________

The suggestion posted by thamagicman took into account unexpected flaming through the use of a flaming forum a place peaple go to flame. Thus if peaple would not like to be flmed then i would suggest they not visit the flame forum for example peaple who don't whant to be spamed or talk about FF would not visit those forums. _________________ One day a lemming will fly.
